Epifanio Castillo, 48, of Fort Morgan, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016.

He was born October 2, 1967 to Epifanio and Raquel (Gutierrez) Castillo Jr. in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He moved with his family from Scottsbluff to Fort Morgan in 1985.

Epifanio was a career military veteran serving his country in the United States Navy for 20 years. He served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan earning a bronze star. After retiring from the Navy he attended The Art Institute of Colorado where he got his Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts.

He is survived by his mother, Raquel Gutierrez of Fort Morgan, his father Epifanio Castillo of Scottsbluff, two sisters, Diane Leon (Andy) of Wiggins, and Frances Pettyjohn (Robin), of Fort Morgan, and nieces and nephews, Brandi Lindbom (Shawn), Andy Leon Jr. (Chelsey), Corina Leon, Emily Leon, Samantha Pettyjohn, Hailey Pettyjohn, Rylee Pettyjohn, Suzana Hayward (Hunter). Great nieces and nephews, Xavier King Leon, Elijah Andres Leon, Kyrah Mae Leon, Elliott Diane Limbom, Sebastian and Henry Hayward. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Trinidad Gutierrez, Francisca Lopez-Gutierrez, Epifanio Castillo Sr.and Frances Castillo.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 2 until 6:00 pm followed by a Rosary Vigil that starts at 6:00 pm all at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.
