Erika Gonzalez Sanchez, 50, passed away on June 23, 2026 in Denver. Erika was born September 2, 1975 in El Paso Texas to Maria Elena Espinosa and Roberto Gonzalez Sr.

In August of 1991, she met the love of her life, Juan Sanchez Sr. They moved to Colorado in 1992 and settled in Brush, Colorado, where they had three children. She began her career in healthcare as a CNA. She loved what she did and took great pride in caring for the elderly, whom she lovingly referred to as her "viejitos."

Erika loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed dancing with her husband and going out on dates. Her time with her siblings was always filled with laughter and joy. Erika's love for her children was unconditional, and her grandchildren were her world. No matter what was going on, she would do whatever it took to be there for them—attending every football game, wrestling match, basketball game, track meet, and any other important moment in their lives.

Erika loved getting her nails and hair done, listening to music, and dancing. She had a passion for butterflies and an even bigger love for dogs. Duke and Bella were her beloved fur babies.

Erika had the biggest heart—a true heart of gold. Her kindness, strength, and beautiful spirit touched so many lives. She was a fighter who stood up for those around her and was always there when family and friends needed support or simply someone to listen.

She is survived by her husband Juan Sanchez Sr: her parents Maria Elena Espinoza and Roberto Gonzalez Sr: her children Juan Sanchez Jr, Arturo Sanchez, Erika Marie Sanchez, her five grandchildren: Juan Sanchez III, Hector Sanchez, Aubree Sanchez, Pablo Sanchez, Emma Sanchez. Her siblings Roberta Nunez, Roberto Gonzalez Jr. her nieces and nephews: Alberto Nunez, Romelia Nunez, Roberto Gonzalez III, Armando Nunez and Micheal Gonzalez, and her two daughters in laws, Brenda Sanchez and Jessica Vasquez

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 4-6 PM with Recitation of the Holy Rosary Beginning at 6:00 PM at Heer Mortuary in Brush.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery.
