Erma M. Lake, 97, Long time Snyder resident, died Friday at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. She was born April 29, 1912 in Niobrara, NE. to Tunis and Beatrice Addington. She married Leon Lake June 26, 1929 in Cheyenne, WY. They have made Snyder their home for many years. Erma worked as a bookkeeper for the Farmland Co-op, She also taught music and substituted for teachers in Snyder. She wrote article for the Brush News Tribune and for the Fort Morgan Times for 30 years. Erma enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and homemaking, she especially enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Brush Senior Citizens Band, and a fifty year member of both the Rebekah Lodge, and the Snyder Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by her daughters Guinevere "Judy" McKellips of Brush, Tina "Bea" Vondy of Sterling and Linda Louise Zidek of Monogahela, PA, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon, her son Etson, 2 grandchildren and her parents. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am at the Brush United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Brush memorial Cemetery.
