Esther Fay Butterfield, 61, former local resident, died November 24, 2016 at Sidney Memorial Hospital in Sidney, NE.

She was born August 6, 1955 in Fort Collins to John and Mary Trumbull. Esther attended school in Greeley and moved frequently as a child. On March 9, 1976 she married Don Butterfield in Greeley. Esther ran a gas station with her husband in 1984. She graduated with her GED in 1985 and walked the stage with her husband, Don; mother, Mary and two nephews. Don & Esther moved to Fort Morgan in 1988, where she took pride in being a homemaker and raising her children. She also drove truck with her husband at that time.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also liked drawing, coloring, painting and listening to music.

Esther is survived by her husband, Don of Sidney, NE; her daughter, Monica Greathouse of Sterling; sons, Donald Butterfield and wife, Pam of Greeley, Scotty Butterfield of Alliance, NE, and Jonathan Butterfield and wife , Amanda, also of Alliance, NE; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
