Esther B. Mireles, 81, went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday evening, April 25, 2012, at the Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO. She was born May 8, 1930, in Garcia, NM, to Antonio and Hilaria Griego. In 1956, Esther married Ernest Mireles in Dalhart, TX, and later moved to El Paso, TX, where they resided until 1990. Prior to retirement, Esther worked in restaurants as a waitress, and also had provided childcare. Esther has lived in Fort Morgan for over 20 years. She was a member of the Grace of God Church in Fort Morgan and was formerly in TOPS and The Red Hats Society. Her devotion in life was to her family and church. Esther was a very caring person who loved to help her family and friends whenever she could. Spending time with her family was most important to her and she loved to visit with everyone on the telephone. She never held grudges, but always forgave. Most importantly, Esther wants all her loved ones to know how she loved Jesus and is with Him in Heaven now. Survivors include her children, Dan (Vicky) Quintana and Julio (Debbie) Mireles, all of Loveland, CO; Cecilia (Enrique) Guerrero of Mexico City, Mexico; Louise (Steve) Sylvester of Burlington, VT; Glen (Connie) Mireles of Fort Morgan, CO; Phillip Mireles of Fort Collins, CO; Bobby Gene Mireles, and his friend, Linda of Spring, TX daughter-in-law, Helen Mireles of Round Rock, TX, and Carolyn Hunter of Taloga, OK; her sister, Alice Gallegos, of Rocky Ford, CO and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Mireles, her sons, Mikel Quintana and Ernest Mireles; her daughters, Cleo Magana and Rose Mireles Harrington; her daughter-in-law, Linda Mireles; her grandson, Jose Quintana; her brother, Chris Griego, and sisters, Rose Vigil and Regina Avila and her parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012, the anniversary of her birth, at 10:00 AM at Life Fellowship in Fort Morgan. The service will conclude at the church. Several years ago Esther mentioned that she would like those attending her service to wear something yellow.
