Esther Scheideman, 93, former Brush resident, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at her daughter's home in Denver. She was born March 25, 1916, in Brush, to John J. & Marie nee Weimer Koehler. On November 28, 1935 Esther married Harold Scheideman in Brush. She worked many years in retail sales, selling shoes and dresses, including Fortee Fashions in Brush. Esther lived in Morgan County all her life until moving to Denver to be closer to her daughters. She was a member of the Immanuel Congregational Church. She and Harold enjoyed several trips to England to visit family. Together they saw most of Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. They loved to travel and spend time with family. Survivors include 3 daughters, Carol Jean Botteron of Fort Collins, CO, Judith Ann Cook and Victoria Hutton both of Denver; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren ; 2 sisters, Lydia Reidle of Brush, and Alma Jo Dodge of Fort Morgan; 2 brothers, Harold Koehler of Peyton, CO, and Kenneth Koehler of Arvada. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 sister, Elsie Schantz, 1 brother, Ben Koehler, and her parents. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush on Monday from 5 – 7 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Immanuel Congregational Church c/o Heer & Dahl Mortuary who is entrusted with the arrangements.
