ETHEL DILLEY, longtime area resident, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush at the remarkable age of 109.

She was born in Gridley, KS on March 25, 1907 to Tom & Martha (Mitchell) Jackson. She married Wade Dilley on March 20, 1925 in Fort Morgan. Together they dryland farmed near Antelope Springs north of Snyder for nearly forty years. In 1970 they moved to town, making their home on Colorado Ave. in Brush. After Wade's death in 1985, Ethel moved to Centennial Manor in Brush, where she lived until moving to Eben Ezer in February of 2015.

Ethel enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing crafts, and playing cards and bingo. She loved her family dearly as they loved her in return. When Ethel was able, she would bake up a storm so she always had cookies and refreshments to offer to all of her "kids" and friends.

She is survived by her son, Donald Dilley of Longmont; seven grandchildren, Colette Schilling of Fort Morgan, Howard (Tresa) Schilling of Brush, Marlene (Chico) LeClaire of Greenwood Village, Gary (Cindy) Blackburn of Longmont, Bob Blackburn of Cedaredge, Sandra Blackburn-Carruth of Longmont, and Toinet Dilley of Colorado, eight great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her daughters, Rozella (Melvin) Blackburn, Doris (Martin) Schilling, one brother, two sisters; and her great grandson, Nicholas LeClaire.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 13th from 2 – 6 PM and Friday, October 14th from 9 AM until 12 PM at the Heer Mortuary in Brush.

A funeral service will be Friday, October 14th at 2:00 PM at All Saints Lutheran Church (Eben Ezer Chapel) in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery.
