Sep 16, 1926 — Jul 16, 2018
On Monday July 17th, our beloved Ethel Martinez (Alonzo) made her way to his heavenly kingdom at the age of 91. She passed peacefully with her family by her side. Ethel was born in Polk County, Minnesota in 1926 but made Fort Morgan home. After attending school in Wiggins, she later met and married Armando Martinez and worked as a homemaker and later as a mother and grandmother.
Ethel loved being outside, working in her garden, sewing and was an avid Broncos fan.
Most importantly Ethel enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her grandchildren, Jeff Palmer (Julie), Paige Dunihoo (Dustin), Triston Palmer, Lisa Martinez, Kim Martinez, A.J. Martinez and her great grandchildren, Wyatt, Annabelle, Suzanna, Atavia, Chevelle, James, Julien, Weston, Bellah, and her sidekick Caden Palmer.
In addition to her grandchildren and her great grandchildren Ethel is survived by her daughter, Michelle Palmer; her sisters, Lena Alonzo, Hope Reyez (Dan), Sue Ayala (Albert), Nancy Araujo (Jess), Esther Palm (Dennis), and Clara Sczuroski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Juana Alonzo; her son, Anthony Martinez; sisters, Isabelle Godino, Ruth Martinez, Mary Patterson; and her brothers, Joe, Pete, and Richard Alonzo.
She was a wonderful woman whose kindness touched many souls. She will be dearly missed.
