Ethel R. Schippert, 97, lifetime resident of Brush, Colorado, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014, at Sunset Manor Care Center in Brush. She was born in Brush on March 4, 1917 to Guy and Annie Wetzbarger. Ethel married Fred Schippert on July 15, 1936 in Brush. She worked at Duckwalls in Brush for years. Ethel was an active member of AARP and the United Methodist Church of Brush. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, gardening, sewing and traveling. She loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her sons, Ross Schippert of Bend, OR, and Merle Schippert of Fort Morgan; her daughter, Nancy Wolfe of Denver; eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Schippert; her daughter, Carolyn Boyd; four brothers, four sisters, and her parents. Visitation will be Monday December 8th 2-4 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Heer Mortuary in memory of Ethel Schippert.
