Eulalio Meraz, 83, longtime area resident, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at his home in Fort Morgan. He was born January 3, 1930, in Durango, Mexico to Julian and Salome (Camargo) Meraz. Eulalio worked at the beef plant for over 20 years and made many friends during those years. He was proud of his truck and enjoyed driving it and keeping it in good running condition. He loved his family and friends, and spending time with them was very important to him. Eulalio is survived by his wife Catalina of Ft. Morgan, sons, Humberto Meraz, of Fort Morgan, Lino Meraz, of Thorton, Colorado, Jose Luis Campa, of Fort Morgan, Gregorio Meraz, of Greeley, and Jose Isabel Campa, of Fort Morgan; daughters, Alejandra Meraz, of Fort Morgan, Matilde Meraz, Baja California, Mexico, and Maria Blasa Renderos, of Fort Morgan, 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and his parents. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 2 until 4 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Funeral Services will follow at 4 pm at the Heer Chapel in Fort Morgan. Those services will conclude at the mortuary. There will be a Rosary recited Friday, July 5, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. The Heer Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
