Eunice E. Needens, 75, longtime Brush resident, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush following a lengthy illness. She was born November 8, 1935 in Wray, Colorado to Homer & Hazel Noffsinger. Eunice graduated from Brush High School in 1953. She attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, OK. On November 6, 1955, Eunice married LeeRoy Needens in Brush. She was a member of the Immanuel Congregational Church. While in high school, Eunice worked at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. Following high school, she worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell, a sales clerk at Coast-to-Coast Hardware Store, was a bookkeeper at Farmers State Bank in Brush; and worked as a secretary at Thomson School, Brush Middle School and Brush High School. She retired in 2000. Eunice was very involved with her family and their sports lives. She was the #1 fan for LeeRoy during his basketball coaching tenure. She enjoyed watching her sons and grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed traveling and going to casinos. Survivors include her husband, LeeRoy of Brush; 4 sons, Randal and his wife, Dawna, of Eaton, CO; Craig, Steven and his wife, Melanie, and Kevin, and his wife, Amy, all of Brush; 2 brothers, Dean Noffsinger of Bellevue, CO, and Jim Noffsinger of Louisville, KY; and 9 grandchildren, Jordan, Brock, Thalia, Doug, Lyndsey, Bryce, Amanda, Brady, and Colby. She was preceded in death by her parents. An open house reception will be held Sunday, February 13, 2011, from 5 – 7 PM at the Carroll Building in Brush. At Eunice's request no funeral service will be held. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Heer & Dahl Mortuary & Crematory.
