Eva M. Weakley, 85, life resident of Northeast Colorado, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born May 26, 1924, in Sterling, CO, to Pius & Amelia Appelhans. On September 9, 1963, Eva married Gene W. Weakley in Sterling. Eva worked at the St. Benedict Hospital in Sterling for several years, and later, Sterling Motor Lodge. In 1969, the Weakley family moved to Brush. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. Eva was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter. Survivors include 1 daughter, Geneva Weakley of Fort Morgan; and 1 brother, Joe Appelhans of Brush. She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 sisters, 4 brothers, and her parents. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at 11:00 AM at the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
