With broken hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Fabian Lee Vigil, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, coach, friend, and mentor. Fabian passed away on August 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Fabian was born on December 21, 1991, in La Junta, Colorado, to Mario and Michelle Vigil Rivera. He was a proud big brother to his younger siblings, Bianca and Dante, who he loved with all his heart.

At just 15 years old, Fabian met the love of his life, Andrea, at wrestling practice at Fort Morgan High School. They fell in love almost instantly and spent the next 19 years growing up side by side, building a beautiful life filled with unconditional love, endless laughter, and unforgettable adventures. Together they created an incredible family with their daughter, Skye, their two dogs, Sunny and Luna, and their cat, Diego.

To his daughter, Skye, Fabian was more than a father—they were best friends. They shared countless adventures, inside jokes, laughter, and memories that will forever live in her heart. She was his greatest joy and his whole world. He was so incredibly proud of everything she ever did.

Fabian was the kind of person who never backed down from a challenge. He embraced every adventure with confidence and enthusiasm, and whatever he set his mind to, he excelled at. Throughout his life, he proudly wore many hats—son, brother, husband, father, uncle, bull rider, journeyman lineman, wrestling coach, mentor, and friend. Above all else, he was simply an incredible human being.

As a Journeyman Lineman (Working Foreman) for the Morgan County REA, Fabian truly loved his work. He took tremendous pride in lighting up the world, but his greatest priority was always the safety and well-being of the men he worked beside. He led with humility, integrity, and genuine care for others.

Fabian’s passion for wrestling began as a young athlete and came full circle when he and Andrea were given the opportunity to coach the Fort Morgan High School Girls Wrestling program—the very place where their love story began. Walking back into the wrestling room reignited his passion for the sport.

He became so much more than a coach. He was a mentor, role model, and second father to countless athletes. Fabian had an incredible gift for connecting with people. He knew exactly how to motivate each wrestler, how to make them laugh when they needed it most, and how to lift them up after both victories and defeats. Every athlete knew they were loved, believed in, and supported by Coach Fabian. He loved every single one of them as if they were his own.

When Fabian wasn’t working or coaching, you could usually find him on his motorcycle with his best friends. He loved the freedom of the open road and treasured every mile spent riding beside the people he loved.

Anyone who knew Fabian knew he could talk smack better than anyone. His quick wit, sarcastic humor, contagious smile, and ability to make everyone around him laugh, were gifts that brightened every room he entered. His presence made people feel welcome, loved, and alive.

Fabian is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Vigil; his beloved daughter, Skye Vigil; his parents, Mario and Michelle Vigil Rivera, and Larry and Lucy Gill; his siblings, Bianca and Izzy Navarrete, Dante Rivera, Gaila Ruppel and Chad Harless, John Gill, Kyle Gill, Riley Gill, and Cullen Gill; his nieces and nephews, Azariah and Behautti Navarrete, Presley and Knox Ruppel, Chloe and Kayden Gill; along with countless extended family members, his wrestling family, his work family, and his motorcycle family.
