It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the death of Felix R. Gutierrez (Mondo) 57, of Brush Colorado. He passed away on February 16, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends in Greeley Colorado.

Mondo was born on March 18, 1967 in Fort Morgan Colorado to Secundino Gutierrez and Ofelia Gutierrez (Reyes). He was a Brush resident his whole life and always a big supporter of the Brush Beetdiggers. He played football and wrestled as a Beetdigger. Mondo graduated from Brush High School in 1985.

Mondo was best known for his massive collection of Hot Wheels, musical instruments, and graphic t-shirts. He was passionate about Spanish Sunday which included food, football, family and music. You could often find him with a speaker, accordion, or on his drum set jamming away to the beat of his own drum. Being with family and friends was something special for him.  He was an avid Bronco fan, enjoyed camping, fishing, and dancing the night away. Mondo also loved playing in pool tournaments.

Mondo started his working career as a dishwasher at Tomahawk. Then, proceeded to expand his excellent culinary skills at True Grit and Cranes. His last career was being a professional roofer and concrete finisher for the last 20 years.

He was the type of person to lend a helping hand and was very prepared for any type of situation. He would give you the shirt off his back, food off his plate, and have great conversations with you. His final act of endless kindness was being able to bless 2 people with the gift of life by becoming an organ donor.

Remaining to cherish Mondo's memory are his son Justin Wood (Melva Wood), granddaughter Melody Wood. Siblings: Ernie Gutierrez, Celia Ramirez (Sally), Gilbert Gutierez (Sally Gutierrez), Bertha Lomeli (Luis Lomeli), and Cecilia Hernandez (Sissy).

Preceding Mondo in death are parents Secundino and Ofelia Gutierrez (Reyes) and sibling Larry Gutierrez.

Celebration of life will be held on February 22, 2025 at the Carroll Building 418 Edison, Brush, Colorado 80723.
