Fern L. Ross, 93, longtime area resident, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Medical Center of The Rockies in Loveland. She was born July 9, 1920 in Vona, CO to Joseph & Myrtle (Fox) Queen. Fern moved to Fort Morgan from Arriba in 1955. She married Glade "Curly" Ross in 1974. Fern was an award winning seamstress and quilter and she was also phenomenal at crocheting and knitting. She also loved gardening and she was an avid supporter of Veterans. She was always quick to donate to numerous charities and she found it especially important to send care packages to military servicemen and women. Fern is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Hedges and her husband, John, of Declo, ID, Elaine Greene of Fort Morgan, and Jody Beardt of Loveland; her sister, Ann Heinrichs of Reedley, CA, seven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and seventeen great-great grandchildren. Fern is also survived by her cherished friend, Ted Graff of Fort Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mary Anderson, Ethel Liming, Stella Queen, and Bertha Queen; her brother, Joe Queen; her husband, Curly Ross; and her grandson, Jerry Greene. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan on Sunday, June 1st from 4 - 6 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, June 2nd at 10:30 AM, also at the chapel.
