FLORA LEE SCHLEGEL, 84, of Fort Morgan, died Monday, July 8, 2013 at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. She was born January 21, 1929 in Wray CO. She married Bert Schlegel in McCook, NE. The Schlegel's moved to the Morgan County area over 50 years ago. Mrs. Schlegel operated a home cleaning business in the area for nearly 20 years. She especially enjoyed cooking, dancing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Gene Schlegel and his wife, April of Fort Morgan, Albert Schlegel of Fort Morgan, Lena Hernandez of Casper, WY, Clifford Schlegel of Fort Collins, CO; and Dean Schlegel and his wife, Kris of Pueblo West, CO; two sisters, Margaret of California and Opal of Denver, CO, 17 + grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harvey and Dale Carpenter; two infant children, Duane and Stevie Lee; her husband; her son-in-law, Manuel Hernandez; and her granddaughter, Angela Hernandez-Warne. Visitation will be from 4 - 6 PM on Thursday, July 11th at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 12th at Saint Charles Episcopal Church, 505 East Eighth Ave., Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
