Obituary

FLORENCE MARIE BRUNKHARDT, 78, lifelong Morgan County resident, died early Friday morning, August 12, 2011 at the Porter Memorial Hospital in Denver. She was born February 7, 1933 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Clarence & Inez (Miller) Hunt. She moved to Morgan County with her mother as a infant. She married William Brunkhardt on January 27, 1952. They farmed for a number of years and also ran a grocery store. Mrs. Brunkhardt most recently worked as a school cook before her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan and also a member of the Ladies Gill there. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and she was the current secretary for the Sagebrush Painters. Mrs. Brunkhardt enjoyed painting, drawing, and doing numerous different crafts. She also enjoyed watching sports. She is survived by her husband, William H. Brunkhardt of Fort Morgan; her son, Donald Brunkhardt of Liberal, KS; two daughters, Susan Daniel of Commerce City and Ruth Villarreal of Brush, 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Brunkhardt was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bud Hunt; her sister, Evelyn McMurrin, and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17th from 6 – 8 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 18th at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan. Memorial gifts may be made in Mrs. Brunkhardt's name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
