Florence LaVon Kembel, 90, lifelong Fort Morgan resident, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Denver.

She was born September 4, 1931 in Fort Morgan to Emanuel & Freida (Temple) Miller. She attended Fort Morgan schools and graduated from Fort Morgan High School. On February 19, 1950, she married John Kembel. They raised their family on a farm in Fort Morgan and Florence worked as a cook for the school district for many years, first at Green Acres Elementary School and then Fort Morgan High School.

Florence was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan where she was very active in the Ladies Fellowship within the church. She was also a member of the Fort Morgan Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends, sewing, reading and gardening.

Florence is survived by her children, John Kembel, Linda (Mike) McMahan, and Susan Jess, all of Fort Morgan and Judy Kembel-Pabst of Greeley; her cherished grandchildren, Jonathon (Cori) Pabst, Brian (Ivy) Pabst, Kyle Pabst, Chelsea (Eric) Riscoe, Ryan (Melissa) McMahan, and Jared McMahan; and her beloved great grandchildren, Coleten Pabst and Lana, Grady, and Berg McMahan. She is also survived by her brother, Johnny (Diane) Miller of Loveland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and her sister, Peggy Tomky.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 18 ^th at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Evangelical Church, 318 W. 7 ^th Ave., Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
