Florence "Flossie" M. Swopes, 89, life resident of Morgan County, passed away, Monday, August 21, 2017, at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley following a short illness.

She was born April 5, 1928 in Willard, CO, to Phocian & Vivian Bryen. Flossie graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1946. On October 20, 1946, she married Calvin N. Swopes in Fort Morgan.

Flossie was a member of the Church of Christ. She worked as bookkeeper for Swopes Plumbing. She also worked for Eben Ezer Home Health for several years. Flossie loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Marlin (Maryann) of Stewartsville, MO, Brian (Teresa) of Fort Morgan and Brenda (Russ) of Brush; one sister, Vivian Nickle, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; two sons, Gene and Kevin; one daughter, Lori; a granddaughter, Laurie; one brother, Foi; and one sister, Leca.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 24th from 4 – 6 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 25th at 11:00 AM at the Church of Christ, 810 Edmunds Street in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery.
