Floyd A. Sanders, 86, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. He was born August 10, 1925, Junction City, KS to Leonard & Flora Sanders. On October 30, 1943, Floyd joined the US Navy, where he served until his honorable discharge on February 13, 1946. On March 15, 1951, he married Joan Dishong in Seneca, KS. Floyd was a heavy equipment operator most of his working life, working in road construction and oil & gas exploration. In his younger years, Floyd enjoyed fishing. His favorite past time was spent looking, buying, trading, and selling cars. Survivors include his 5 children, Jennie Martin of Brush; Dale Ridgway of Idaho; Floyd L. Sanders of Evans, CO, Clyde Sanders of Kersey, CO; and Donald Sanders of Texas; 2 sisters, Joan Davis of Georgia and Marie Klein of Denver; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 1 granddaughter, and his parents. A private family service will be held later in Rock Springs, WY. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
