Frances Sylvia Romero passed away unexpectedly on December 11th, 2021 in her long-time home in Brush, CO at the age of 74. Frances was born in Las Animas, CO to John and Sadie Fernandez on May 21st, 1947.

Frances was well-known in the small Brush community as she had many friends and could recall the name and life story (if given) of just about anyone she had ever met!  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she will be eternally reunited with her husband, two children and her parents.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Orlando Romero and two of their children, Christopher Romero, age 21, and Donna Luquin, age 49. She is survived by their oldest child, David Romero, her two grandchildren, Clarisa Benett (Matt) and Christopher Luquin, her new great-grandchild Henry Benett (Clarisa) her sister, Sandra (Frank) Lovato, her two brothers, Paul Fernandez and Bobby (Esther) Fernandez as well as many nieces and nephews and families.

A Rosary/Scripture service will be held on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heer Mortuary and Crematory, 222 Cameron St, Brush, CO 80723. Interment will follow at the Brush Memorial Cemetery, 1401 Mill Street, where Frances will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter. All who wish to offer condolences to the family are welcome to attend.
