Obituary

Frances Yvonne Snyder, 84, of Hillrose went home to our Lord on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 11, 1929 in Truckton, Colorado to Marcus and Frances Silkett. She attended school in Niwot. Frances and her beloved Charles Henry Snyder began their wonderful journey in life together on January 13, 1946 in Niwot, Colorado. They raised seven wonderful children together while managing the exciting challenges of owning a dairy farm. They taught their children and grandchildren the value of hardwork, compassion, love, and being able to laugh at things that life brought your way. They sold their life's dream and moved to Hillrose in 1991 to start another great adventure together. While in Hillrose Frances and Charles attended the United Methodist Church in Brush. Frances had several past times that she enjoyed such as reading, cooking, gardening, and bird watching. One of her hobbies was collecting hummingbird items. Her greatest joy in life was her family, her children and especially her grandchildren. She always watched over them, and enjoyed seeing everyone grow up throughout the years. Her most sweet and precious smiles came from time spent with her grandchildren. Her greatest legacies are those she left behind. She is survived by three daughters, Diane Castle (Bill) of Thermopolis, Wyoming, Charlyn Randa (Alan) of Loveland, Karen Austin (Thom) of Hillrose; four sons, Charles H. Snyder Jr., Everett Snyder (Becky), Earl Snyder and Kenneth Snyder, all of Hillrose; two sisters, Ruth Else of Littleton, and Gladys Bashford of Loveland; ten grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind, but will always be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all who miss her. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband, Charles; one son, Chester Allen Snyder, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. A funeral service will be Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church in Brush. Services will conclude at the church. Memorial Gifts may be made to The Hospice of the Plains or to Alzheimer's Research.
