Frank J. Vannoy, 87, passed away early Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. He was born February 15, 1920, in Kearney, NE, to William & Margaret Vannoy. He graduated from Kearney High School. On December 8, 1946, Frank married Ruth Miller in Strasburg, CO. In 1966 the Vannoy's moved to Strasburg from South Dakota. Frank farmed most of his life. In 2006 he moved to the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Strasburg. He enjoyed doing leather work and lapidary (stone cutting and polishing) work. Survivors include his children, Doug Vannoy, and his wife, Julie, of Fort Morgan; Sharon McGuire, and her husband, Edward of Strasburg, CO; his son-in-law, Don Wailes of Strasburg; 1 sister, Florence Swartz of Westminster, CO; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, 1 daughter, Diane, 1 sister, Dorothy Patterson, 2 brothers, Robert and Walter, and his parents. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5, 2008, at 10:00 AM at the All Saints Lutheran Church at Eben Ezer Care Center in Brush. Concluding service and interment will be in the cemetery at Bennett, CO, at 12:30 PM. The Heer Mortuaries & Crematory in Fort Morgan and Brush are entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
