Obituary

Frederick Dean Marick entered life eternal on Monday, August 10, 2015, in Grover, Colorado. Fred Marick was born on May 15, 1954, in Brush, Colorado to Clayton and Josephine (Herzberg) Marick. He was baptized in 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Fort Morgan. Fred and his parents moved to Grover, Colorado in 1966, where the family ranched and farmed. Fred graduated from Pawnee High School in 1972. Frederick Dean Marick married Roxanne Lynne Bachenberg on March 18, 1983 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greeley, Colorado. The couple resided in Grover. Much of Fred's adult life was spent farming and ranching, in addition to establishing his company, Marick's Custom Service. Fred enjoyed and took pride in operating heavy equipment machinery, grading roads, farming, digging pipelines, and operating a crane, just to name a few. Fred practiced a diligent work ethic. When he took on a task or job, he performed it with single-minded determination and efficiency. Fred had a willingness to support individuals in need in the community. Fred was a member of the Grover Community Church (now named Friendship Alliance Church). He actively participated in the adult Sunday School class for many years. He enjoyed meaningful discussions of biblical text with his friends. Frederick Dean Marick is survived by his wife, Roxanne, and his son, Timothy, both of Grover; his daughter, Amy (T.J.) Fox, and grandson, Dalton, of Carpenter, Wyoming; his brother Allen (Marilyn) Marick of Fort Morgan; his brother, Edgar (Dorothy) Marick of Pilot Point, Texas; his sister, Dorothy (Bruce) Smart of Fort Morgan; and 15 nieces and nephews. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Josephine Marick. A memorial service to celebrate Fred's life will be at the United Methodist Church, 117 East Bijou Avenue, in Fort Morgan on Friday, August 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. A private inurnment will be held. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Fred Marick Memorial Fund c/o the Heer Mortuary, 222 Cameron Street, Brush, CO 80723.
