Obituary

Fred Merlin Weatherbie, age 92, passed away in Ft Morgan CO, November 2, 2018.

Fred was born on October 15, 1926 in Blue Mound KS to Fred and Vivian Weatherbie. After graduation from high school he joined the US Navy and served from 1944-46 on the Destroyer USS New. Upon leaving the Navy he attended Washburn University in Topeka KS.

He married Mary Lou Jeanneret on July 1, 1950 in Marysville KS. To this union four children were born, Thomas, Daniel, Ronald and Janice. They moved to Colorado November 1959 and lived in Morgan County for the rest of his life. Fred was an accountant and office manager for GM dealerships for 40 years until he retired. He was also a rancher, farmer and good horseman.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Lou and sons Dan (Connie) of Amarillo, TX; Ron (Karen) of Centennial CO; daughter Janice (Jerry) Musgrave of Ft Morgan CO and daughter – in- law Linda Weatherbie. Grandchildren Jay, Kristin, Aaron, Evan, Chanda, Damon, Adrian, Lisa, Stacy and Kyle and 7 great grandchildren and several nephews and a niece..

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Vivian Weatherbie, sister Doris Jean Sparks and son Tom Weatherbie.

Inurnment will be in Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Wednesday, November 7 th at 1:30 PM at Staging Area "B". In lieu of flowers donations may made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
