Freda Osteen, 93 of Brush, died Friday at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born July 10, 1913 in Sherman County, Texas to Walter and Mattie Burrows. She married Oscar Osteen December 25, 1941 in Texhoma, Oklahoma. She taught school in several country schools. She was a bookkeeper for the Osteen Gas Service Company that her and her husband ran for 23 years. She retired in 1972. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Home Demonstration Club, and was a leader in 4-H. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, family history, and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Hal Osteen of Boulder and Ona Bohling of Ft. Morgan, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar, 1 sister Freddie Roach. At her request no services are be planned at this time. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center 122 Hospital Road Brush, CO 80723, or to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado 1106 E. 6th Ave. Ft. Morgan, CO 80701. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
