Garnet Irlene Leys, 68, passed away on October 16, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, a remarkable story, and a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to truly know her.
Garnet was a woman of strength, resilience, and an unforgettable spirit. She experienced her share of life's challenges yet remained a woman with a heart capable of giving so much to others. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a personality uniquely her own, and a presence that will be deeply missed by those who held her closest.
A talented pianist, Garnet had a special gift for music. Whether playing for others or simply enjoying the beauty of a familiar song, music was an important part of her life and one of the many gifts she shared with the world.
One of the most meaningful chapters of Garnet's life was the time she spent raising and caring for her three granddaughters, Nevaeh, Kyla, and Lily. She dedicated years of her life to providing for them, guiding them, and being a constant presence in their lives. The love and sacrifices she made for them will remain an enduring part of her legacy.
Garnet is survived by her mother, Virginia Walter; her children, Ryan Glass and Rusti Munsell; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Nevaeh, Kyla, and Lily; her siblings, Becky Hansen, Kelly Lefever (Tom Lefever), and Pat Walter (Cynda Walter); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends, including her niece Makayla, who loved her Auntie Panty dearly and has taken the liberty of declaring herself the favorite.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Walter Jr.; her brother, Gary Walter; and her beloved grandparents, with whom she is now reunited in Heaven.
Garnet's life was filled with moments of joy, hardship, love, and perseverance. Her story was uniquely her own, and those who shared in its most meaningful chapters will carry memories of her that time can never erase. May she rest peacefully, knowing that she mattered, that her life had meaning, and that she will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who truly loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Garnet’s life Monday, November 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Brush United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through FundAFamily. The family is grateful for the kindness, support, and generosity shown during this ult time.
