Gary Lee Gahagen, 66, passed away at his home south of Wiggins with his wife and children at his side, Sunday August 8 at 7:00 AM. Gary was born February 3, 1944 to Russell and LoDema (Wilson) Gahagen in Denver. He grew up on a farm south of Wiggins and attended Wiggins Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 and served 3 years in Freidburg, Germany and was a Sgt. E5 in the Armor Division 36th Infantry Scout Platoon at the time of his honorable discharge. He returned to Wiggins and married Barbara Bruntz in 1964. They were divorced in 1979. He married Connie (Orman) Loose in 1993. He farmed in Wiggins until he started developing agriculture projects for Western Ag. In 1977. He managed projects for the company in Nebraska, Texas, Paraguay, Venezuela, Algeria, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. In the mid 1980's he began working at and managing various country grain elevators. He managed the Wiggins elevator at the time of his retirement. His children, grandchildren, family and his many friends were very special to him. He enjoyed playing poker, making wood projects for people he knew, hunting, and exploring with his ranger. He also loved dogs, especially golden retrievers. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of Wiggins; three daughters, Christy Gahagen of Amarillo, Texas, Shannon Florian and husband, Elton, of Akron, and Sharon Bride of Strasburg; two sons, Russell Gahagen of Denver and Patrick Feeney of Webberville, Michigan; one step-son, Michael Loose of Broomfield and one step-daughter Julie Molina of Brush; two sisters, Gwyn Walker and Susan Tripp, both of Wiggins; one brother, Kim Gahagen, of Wiggins; nine grandchildren; Jordon and Tyler of Webberville, Ashley, Colten and Dalton of Texas, Ethan and Garrett of Akron, Brayden and Noah of Strasburg and one step-grandchild, Gabriel of Brush. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 10:30 am at the Wiggins Community Church in Wiggins. The service will conclude at the church.
