Gary was born January 11, 1942 in Wheatridge, Colorado and passed away March 21, 2023. Gary grew up in Wiggins and served in the Army from 1964-67, including a tour of duty in Korea, transporting fuel into the DMZ.

After his military service, Gary moved to Ft Morgan where he lived for 47 years. Gary worked as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed the different parts of the country he got to see and the people he met along the way. Gary enjoyed watching sports, was an avid Denver Nuggets fan and enjoyed spending time with friends over coffee.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Austin H Lake and wife, Helen; his mother, Margaret Naylor Welch; two brothers: Stanley Lake and Larry Welch and one sister, Janice Hebb.  He is survived by two sisters, Delores Ledford of Ft Morgan and Vivian Sandbeck of Burien, Washington, and two nieces, Gwen Steffen of Wiggins and Angela Anderson of Annandale, Virginia

A celebration of Gary's life will take place later in the Spring.
