George L. Atwood, 82, former Brush area resident, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020, at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman, NE.  He was born June 8, 1937, in Brush to Edgar "Hap" Atwood & Alice Hardy – Gilbert.

George served in the US Air Force at the end of the Korean Conflict.  Following his discharge he returned to Brush and worked as a farm laborer.

Survivors include his children, Wendy Lewis of Trenton, NE, Leslie Atwood of Wisconsin, and Katina Robertson of Benkelman, NE; 1 brother, Tom of Boyertown, PA and several grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Sarah; 2 brothers, Howard & Dale; and his parents.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 24, 2020, at 1:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
