George W. Kalous, 92, passed away on June 4, 2022 at his lifelong home with his family by his side. He was born April 17, 1930, to Richard and Josephine Kalous. George was the youngest of 9 children and had a very active childhood, working on the farm.

After graduating from high school, George joined the Army.  He served from 1951 to 1953, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. When his service was over, he then returned to the farm where he started working his way to accomplishing his dream.

During that time, George met Cecilia Walczyk, and they were married in 1963. In 1969 they adopted their son, James, who learned how to "do what dad did."

George enjoyed his later years by overseeing all the farm and cattle operations.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Josephine Kalous; seven sisters; and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Kalous; son James (Michele) of Woodrow, Colorado; grandchildren, Amanda (Kody) Wood of Sidney, NE, Michael (Jessica) Godo of Lakewood, CO, Renee (Thad) Sperry of Woodrow, Tim Kalous of Sterling, Kristen (Jared) Brinkley, Dawn (Brandon) Geist and Michelle (Brayan) Mosso, all of Fort Morgan; and 17 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday June 9 ^th , at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush at 10:00 AM, followed by Committal service at Brush Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush.
