George William Sears, 58, of Fort Morgan, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland with his family at his side.

George was born August 16, 1961 in Washington, IA to John & Nellie (Collier) Sears. He grew up and attended schools in California. He married Sally Vela in Las Vegas, NV on June 16, 1990. They moved to Fort Morgan from California in 1994 and George began his career at the Excel Beef Plant, which later became Cargill Meat Solutions. He worked maintenance in refrigeration for the majority of his time there before his health forced him to retire in 2018.

George was an avid reader, handyman, and fisherman. He enjoyed taking summer trips to California to visit family, and he also enjoyed going to the mountains. George loved his family dearly, and he especially liked having family movie night with them. He had a genuine heart and a gentle soul and was adored by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; and his daughters, Georgina and Samantha; his grandchildren, Jaslene, Nataly, and Damian; and his sister, Elizabeth.

George was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Linda, and Irma; and his brother, Johnathan.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 11 ^th at 4:00 PM at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan at a later date. Due to COVID-19, those attending the service will be respectfully required to practice safe, social distancing.
