Georgia Ann Seabert began her life on May 12, 1933 when she was born to Harold and Neoma Wetzbarger in Brush, CO. She spent her life on the eastern plains of Colorado. She loved the beauty of the plains and took advantage of every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. In 2006 Georgia moved back to Brush to be closer to her family. Here, the circle of her life was completed. At age 74 she passed away on August 24, 2007 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. She spent the first half of her life in Brush where she attended school and later married Carl W. Seabert on August 3, 1952, and they settled down to raise a family of four children. During these years they were active members of the Rankin Presbyterian Church. In 1966 a great sadness came in their life with the death of their youngest son, Jonathan. In 1967 they moved to Burlington, Colorado where they finished raising their family. During these years Georgia worked at various secretarial jobs, contributing many years to the Burlington school system from which she retired. Following retirement, she and Carl worked summers at Bonny Reservoir, and she volunteered for the Burlington Welcome Center as a travel consultant. For a short time they ran a bed and breakfast from their Victorian home. Carl preceded her in death on August 12, 1997. Her interests were varied and included sewing, drawing and painting, playing the piano, cooking, reading, travel, and enjoying nature. Bonny Lake was a favorite spot, and whenever possible the cabin on the hill was chosen as the place to take friends and family to relax and enjoy time together. A big part of Georgia's life was her love for animals. She cared for each stray and needy four-legged creature that appeared at her back door. Most prevalent in her life was her love for her children and grandchildren. She always found fun and creative ways to spend time with them. Mourning her passing are her daughter Robin and son-in-law Joe Bott of Denver, CO, their children Michael of Colorado Springs and Ryan and her husband David Cohen of Sacramento, CA.; daughter Jenny and son-in-law Ric Schlosser of Denver, CO, their children Tanner and his wife Jaci Schlosser of Denver and Hannah Schlosser of Hays, KS; and son Walt and daughter-in-law Betsy Seabert of Steamboat Springs, CO and their sons Kent and Adam, also of Steamboat. On August 24, the day that Georgia left her earthly home, her first great grandchild, Lilly, was born to Ryan and David. Also mourning Georgia's passing are her brother Rolly Wetzbarger of Denver, her niece, Whitney, and her nephews, Scott and Jacob. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2007, at 11:30 AM at the Rankin Presbyterian Church, 422 Clayton Street in Brush. The service will conclude at the church.
