Gerald LeRoy Amsberry, 77 years old, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at 12:10 PM, at Swedish Medical Center, in Littleton, Colorado following his battle with Cancer.

Gerald is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Nancy Amsberry; his two daughters, Michelle (Leo) Runnels of Littleton, CO and Kate (Scot) Pittman, Santee, CA his two Step-Sons Michael and Steven Hanson, his Grand Children, Michael and Natalie Pittman, Jacob and Matthew Runnels, and his dog Bella. Also, his two Sisters, Karen Teter, Salt Lake City, UT, Patricia (Larry) Chartier of Brush, CO, his Brother Marlin (Carol) Amsberry of Littleton, CO and his many Nieces and Nephews.

Born in Benkelman, Nebraska and the Son of Howard Louis Amsberry and Edna Whelmina Amsberry, he was a lifelong resident of Colorado.

Gerald graduated from Brush High School as his Class President in 1957, and went on to Graduate from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley where he was Sophomore Class President, an active member of the Tau Epsilon Fraternity (TKE) and Intercollegiate Knights Honorary Fraternity. Gerald furthered his education and became a Real-estate Broker obtaining his GRE.

Gerald taught in the Denver Public Schools for five years, and then returned to his home town of Brush Colorado in September of 1974 to work for C.E. Cumberlin CO. While living in Brush Colorado, Gerald became the President of the Brush Chapter of the Lions Club, and an honored member of the community. Gerald was the President of Amsberry, Bach, and Elson Realty. Gerald became the Vice President of CLM International Corporation, and then continued on to become the Owner and Operator of Woodlawn Floral where he worked and lived in Littleton until he retired in 2008.

After Gerald retired in 2008 he moved to Englewood with his wife Nancy, where he resided for the remainder of his years.

Gerald married his cherished wife Nancy Hammontree on March 28th, 1970; he loved and honored her throughout his years. Gerald was a strong and compassionate father to his beloved daughters, Michelle and Kate, whom brought him joy and happiness all his days.

Gerald's life was a lovely story of family and faith, which will live on throughout the years, in the pieces of himself that he left with all whom were fortunate enough to know him. Gerald said that his greatest and most important accomplishment in life was his family, the one thing for which he was most grateful and proud of. He was a strong Christian Man whose name was recorded in the Book of Life, and who fearlessly died into Life Everlasting.
