Geraldine was born August 31, 1927 died January 19, 2021, at the age of 93 years young. Geraldine and her twin sister were born in Lodgepole, Nebraska to Elmer and Ruth (Grimes) Reichmen.
Geraldine grew up on the family farm 15 miles North of Chappell, NE. She attended school in a one room school through grade 8 near their home. She attended Duel County High School in Chappell, NE where she graduated.
Geraldine met Vayle on a blind date and they were married February 3, 1946 in Chappell, NE. Geraldine helped Vayle on the farm, was the postmaster in Hot Sulphur Springs and a clerk in Brush and Fort Morgan, a 4-H leader, and worked at the Groc Kart in Brush. Her hobbies were cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing and quilting. She liked to watch game shows and Christian sermons and music. Geraldine is a member of the Austin Bluffs Community Church in Colorado Springs, CO. Geraldine was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She took pride in all that she did.
Geraldine is survived by daughter Sandra Sozio of Colorado Springs, Colorado, daughter Patricia and husband Carl Shoemate of Liberal, Kansas, daughter Lona Anderson of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, daughter Carol and husband Jim Hardin of Trinidad, Colorado. She has 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vayle, her parents, Elmer and Ruth Reichman, twin sister Imogene, brothers Robert and Eugene Reichman, 1 granddaughter and 1 great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Friday, January 22, 2021, at 1pm. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that checks be made out to Austin Bluffs Community Church, label it Anderson Memorial this will be used for missions.
