Obituary

Geraldine Ada (Littlefield) Vangraefschepe passed away February 4, 2016 at Fair Acres Manor. She was born April 3, 1928, at the family ranch northeast of New Raymer, Colorado. Her parents were Ralph E. Littlefield and Lois P. (Osterhoudt) Littlefield. Gerry was the second youngest of six brothers and sisters. She attended school in New Raymer, where she graduated in 1947. As a child and young adult, she attended the Evangelical Free Church in New Raymer. Later, she attended the Assembly of God Church in Stoneham. She was married in April 2, 1948 and lived southwest of New Raymer where she raised her eight children.

Gerry worked as a school-bus driver for Prairie School for 15 years. After her children were raised, she worked as a cook and custodian at restaurants in Brush and Ft. Morgan. Briefly, Gerry lived in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and worked at the Scottsbluff Country Club. She eventually settled in Greeley, Colorado and worked as a nanny for several years. Upon retirement, she lived at Benjamin Eaton Square apartments in Eaton, Colorado, where she found many lifelong friends. Failing health placed Gerry at Fair Acres Manor where she was loved and cared for until her death.

Gerry is survived by daughters, Glenda Bailey (Gary) of Greeley and Ruth Guldenpfennig (Pete) of Oakdale, California; sons Keith of Fort Morgan, David (Nancy) of Denver, Steven of Madison, Wisconsin , Stanley of Oakdale, California, Ralph of Wiggins and a sister, Verlene Carlson of Woodlands, Texas; 41 Grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Melvin Vangraefschepe, granddaughter Kelsey Rae Guldenpfennig, her parents, sister, Lorraine Pivonka, brothers, Emerson, Wayne, Kenneth, and James Littlefield.

Celebration of Gerry's life will be April 9, 2016 at New Raymer Community Church in New Raymer, Colorado at 10:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest at the New Raymer Cemetery.
