Gertrude L. Holzwarth, 96, longtime area resident, died Sunday, May 21st, 2017 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.

She was born on June 3rd, 1920 in Saint Francis, KS to Hubert & Hazel Voeller. On November 19th, 1943 Gertrude married Emil Holzwarth.

Gertrude was a member of the Silver Notes Band for 35 years. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, macrame, and playing cards at the senior center. Gertrude really enjoyed people and life.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Cawley of Fort Morgan; 1 sister, Ethel Mae Blair of Delta; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; her parents and 2 brothers, Phillip Voeller and Kenneth Voeller.
