Gladys L. Ferris, 107, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born February 25, 1902 in Nodaway, Iowa, to Allen & Pauline Taylor. She married her first husband, Arthur D. Cathroe, in 1921. He died in 1966. On February 18, 1975, Gladys married Robert P. Ferris in Denver. She has lived in Brush since November, 2000. Prior to retirement, Gladys worked as a legal secretary / stenographer. She enjoyed playing golf, quitting when she was 84 due to health reasons, and dancing. Survivors include 2 step-children, Colleen Taylor of Lakewood, CO, and Lynn Ferris, formerly of Fort Morgan, of Greeley, CO; 7 step-grandchildren and several step great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; 1 nephew and 2 nieces. Graveside services will be Friday, July 31, 2009, at 2:30 PM at the Crown Hill Cemetery, 29th & Wadsworth Blvd in Wheat Ridge, CO. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush on Thursday from 2 – 4 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center c/o Heer & Dahl Mortuary.
