Gladys Marie Margritz, 90, longtime area resident, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at her daughter's home north of Fort Morgan.

She was born November 22, 1926 in Fort Morgan to Jacob and Katherine (Kroskob) Knopp.

Gladys married Melvin Margritz on March 3, 1946 in Saint Francis, Kansas.

She was a member of the Christ Congregational Church in Fort Morgan.

Gladys enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, and traveling. She and her husband Melvin, visited 49 different states, and traveled extensively in Canada.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Beeler of Boulder City, Nevada, Linda Scott (Frank) of Panama City, Florida, Elmer Margritz of Trinidad, Colorado, Kathy Davis (Tom) of Fort Morgan, and Darlene Mock of Scottsdale, Arizona, one sister, Florene Griese, of Sterling, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, four brothers, Robert, LeeRoy, Donald and Clarence Knopp, two sisters, Dorothy Tyler, Esther Rowell and one granddaughter Carrie Scott.
