Obituary

Gladys Viola Weimer, 99, of Fort Morgan, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan.

She was born in Culbertson, NE on May 20, 1917 to Henry & Anna (Bekel) Weber. Gladys attended grade school at a country school north of Culbertson and graduated from Culbertson High School in 1935.

Gladys came to Morgan County in the summer of 1939 and married Henry Weimer Jr. on March 23, 1941. They farmed the Wiggins and Fort Morgan area all their life.

Gladys loved the farm, canning, baking, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She was an active member of Christ Congregational Church, a 55 year charter member of Mary Martha Circle, and a 50 year charter member of Extension Homemakers Club. She received the North Star Extension Homemakers Award in 1987 and the Colorado Master Farm Homemaker Guild Award in 1993.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Weimer Jr.; her siblings, Carl Weber, Walter Weber, Edward Weber, Alvina Wagner, and Dorothy Ivins; Henry's siblings, Leona Weimer, Emma Bauer, Carl Weimer, Dave Weimer, and Edward Weimer.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Harold Weimer and his wife, Pat; her sister-in-law, Helen Weimer, numerous cousins, and numerous nephews and nieces who will miss their beloved aunt.

A funeral service will be Thursday, December 22nd at 1:30 PM at Christ Congregational Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
