Glen Henry Rudder was born August 24, 1928 to Thomas J. and Daisy (Harper) Rudder in San Diego, California. The family moved to a dugout near Benkelman Neb. living there until Daisy found a rattlesnake in his crib, causing them to them relocate. They moved to what would be Glen's childhood home, half way between Goodland and St. Francis, KS. on the Beaver Creek. Glen attended a country school where he graduated from 8th grade, but was forced to quit school due to his beloved mother's declining health.
Glen and Beth met in 1948 and were married August 28, 1949. To this union, 6 children were born, Michael Jay (Carmen), Rae Arlynn (Channon), James Henry (Karen), Lorie Beth (Abdul), Wayne Marlin (Kay), Mary Annette (Robert). It was always Glen's wish to have a large family and certainly accomplished that with 6 kids in 7 years. Glen's life would forever change, when Beth died unexpectedly in 2004. Due to the progression of Alzheimers, Glen entered Brookside Inn in Castle Rock, Co. in 2011. His daughter Lorie had discovered this loving and caring facility that would be his home until his death, April 6, 2017.
He is survived by his 6 children, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Glen was a wonderful father, grandfather, story teller and friend to all.
A funeral service will be Thursday, April 13th at 10:00 AM the United Methodist Church in Genoa. Interment will follow in Walks Camp Cemetery.
