Glenn E. Proctor 81 of Ft. Morgan, died Monday evening at his home. He was born September 3, 1925 in Norton, Kansas to Walter and Elsie Proctor. His family moved to Kit Carson County when he was 2 months old. He attended Smelker School, South of Stratton thru the 8th grade. His family moved to Vona, CO so he could attend High School. He joined the Navy during WWII , his ship was torpedoed and sank with a great loss of life. He spent the last days of the war with the Shore Patrol stationed on Treasure Island. Following the war he returned to Vona, and married Eleanor R. Short on April 18, 1946. They were married 61 years. To this union was born 2 daughters, Mary Proctor, and Judith A. Proctor, and one son Thomas Proctor. Glenn worked for and later managed the Snell Grain Co. in Stratton, until 1967, and then the Burlington Elevator. He served on the Stratton Town Council, and was President of the Chamber of Commerce. In 1971 his family moved to Ft. Morgan where he owned and operated his construction company until his retirement. He is survived by his wife Eleanor, his children, Mary Ehlers, and Thomas Proctor, 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith, his parents, one brother Willard Proctor, and 5 sisters, Elouis Peters, Doris Peters, Ivalee Byboe, Erma June Balange And Helen Brimeyer. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-7pm at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. A Graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the Vona Cemetery in Vona, CO. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the organization of their choice.
