Glenn L. Skinner, passed away on March 7, 2023, at 75 years old at his home in Wiggins, CO.
He was born in Denver, Colorado on April 18, 1947. He was adopted 3 days later by Paul & Glenna Skinner from Brush, CO. Glenn grew up and attended school in Brush.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Vet. Glenn married Marilyn K. Lebsock on December 31, 1979. He worked for the RE-3 school district, 7-11, K-Mart, Akron Police Department and Morgan County Sheriff's Department. Glenn started at the Sheriff's Department on the Morgan County Sheriff's Posse and ended as Captain of the jail. He worked for the Port of Entry until he was injured.
He belonged to the AF&AM Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge, VFW Post 2551 Fort Morgan, Eastern Star & Shriners. Glenn Volunteered for the Department of Human Services in the Adult Protection Program. He also served for the Juvenile Diversion.
Glenn played in a band and enjoyed playing guitar. Glenn & Marilyn opened their home to foster children. They adopted a son. Glenn and Marilyn enjoyed motor homing, riding motorcycles, his 3-wheel trike, playing dominos, eating out with family & friends, cooking, and later in life, coloring with his I-pad. He never knew a stranger, and always loved meeting people. He loved working and being around his co-workers.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of 44 years; his children, Ron Skinner and family of Fort Morgan, Glenn Skinner Jr., of Fort Morgan, Luanda Puerita of Texas, Sam Skinner of Florida, Lisa Lebsock of Fort Morgan, Malinda Hatfield of Kansas, Rodney & Sheila Lebsock of Arvada, Colorado, Darrin Skinner of Colorado, Dottie Wetzbarger of Brush; brother, Buzz Skinner of California; best friend, Mike Adams (band member); his grandchildren, Ryan, Branden, Alisha, Corey, Prestyn, Kyle, Aaron, Gavin, Eli, Abbie, Megan, Ashton, Mason, Ronnie Jr., Sierra, Joshua, Israel, Sierra Castillo, Nathaniel, Jose Jr., Winter, and Kristina Skinner.
Glenn was preceded in death by, Paul & Glenna Skinner, Bobby Wetzbarger, Butch Wetzbarger, Annie Wetzbarger, Tom Wetzbarger, Rick Biardi, Corky Skinner, and his daughter, Crystal. He will be missed.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Mark Arndt Event Center at Morgan County Fairgrounds in Brush at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery. Cremation was requested.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
