Obituary

Lifelong Morgan County resident, Gloryann Boone passed away on May 13, 2024.

Gloryann was born in Brush, CO on January 10, 1935 to Anthony E. Frasco & Arlene (Bartram) Frasco. She joined an older brother, David, at home and was raised on a farm/ranch 20 miles north of Fort Morgan. She was born into a very close-knit family of many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Many fond memories of family get-togethers remained with her all her life. Gloryann started helping her mom in the kitchen at the age of five and she enjoyed cooking and baking all of her life. She attended a one room country school, Peace Valley, for six years then continued on to Fort Morgan where she graduated in May of 1952. She was the first one on the bus in the morning and the last one off the bus at night.

Gloryann married Chester C. "Jack" Boone in 1955 and together they raised two daughters. Jack was self-employed and Gloryann did the bookkeeping for his business. Jack passed away in August of 2008.

Gloryann went to work at Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company in 1952 and worked through all the phone company name changes. She worked in Fort Morgan, Greeley and Fort Collins. She retired from Quest in May of 1985. The following September she started working at JC Penny for the holiday season, which turned into 18 years of full-time employment before her retirement in 2004.

Gloryann was an avid collector and had many different collections. Her idea of a fun day was to go "antiquing" looking for figurines. She was an active member of the Northern Colorado Telephone Pioneers of America, and Beta Epsilon Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha. She was an avid reader, collecting many books by her favorite authors. She also enjoyed a small card group. Gloryann loved to travel, and she took many trips with family and friends, favoring trips which included seasides. She first saw the ocean at the age of fifteen which led to a lifelong fascination and love of ocean views.

She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Scott) Hamilton of Londonderry, NH, and Linda Diane Boone of Denver; her brothers, Roger Frasco of Fort Collins and Tim (Judy) Frasco of Fort Morgan; her sister-in-law, Gwyn Frasco of Walla Walla, WA and many dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; her brother, David Frasco, two sisters-in-law and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery in Stoneham.
