GORDON C. JOHNSON, 72, lifetime resident of Fort Morgan, died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan. He was born July 8, 1938 in Fort Morgan to Ed & Delta (Phelps) Johnson. He served in the Marines from 1954 until 1959. He married Mary Ann Hamburg on September 25, 1960. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Mr. Johnson was an avid coin collector. He also enjoyed collecting wolf t-shirts and he also had a large collection of DVD's. He had a special interest in tropical fish and fish aquariums and at one time had 54 different varieties of fish. He loved going to Denver to try new restaurants and he especially enjoyed time spent with his family. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Johnson of Fort Morgan; and four brothers, Larry Johnson, Glenn Johnson, and Randy Johnson, all of Fort Morgan and Daniel Johnson of Nebraska. He was preceded in death his parents and his brother, Roger Johnson. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM, Monday, December 6th at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 7th, also at the chapel. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
