Gregory J. Lara, 60, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Fairacres Manor in Greeley following a lengthy illness.  Gregory was born May 12, 1960, in Fort Morgan to Juan & Guadalupe (Torrez) Lara.

Gregory received is GED in 1978.  He worked a various agriculture jobs until health issues forced his retirement.

He was a member of the New Freedom Church.  He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, and spending time with family & friends.  His favorite time was spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his former wife, Patricia Lara; his children, Timothy, Alicia, Enidena, Krystal, Manny, Mya, Nathan, Anthony, Izayis, and Amos;  2 sisters, Rosie Cruz & Elizabeth Lara; 3 brothers, Johnny, Emilo and  Anthony Lara; and 11 grandchildren. Gregory has many nephews and nieces who cherish the time and memories with their uncle. Gregory was a very honest and caring man, who was willing to help anyone in need. He would never turn down a day of fishing, a day at the lake swimming with music playing and food on the grill. We will all cherish the memories we shared with Gregory.

At Gregory's request, no formal service will be held.  The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
