Guy E. "Mike" Wilson, 75, longtime area resident, passed away Friday, September 14, 2006, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. He was born December 25, 1930, in Alva, OK. Mike served in the US Military during the Korean Conflict. He married Bettie R. Walker on November 12, 1966, in Fort Morgan. Mike moved to Fort Morgan From Oklhoma in 1953 and drove a truck in the oil fields. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan, the American Legion and a life member of VFW #3551 in Brush. Mike enjoyed tinkering with cars and always kept the family's vehicles in working order. He and his wife liked to travel together and took several trips through the years visiting places including Alaska and Florida. His grandchildren were very special to him and he loved to follow their local sporting events. Survivors include 4 daughters, Nancy Kugler of New Raymer, Carol Niclas of Stoneham, JoAnn DeSamber of Fort Morgan and Nellie Zion of Vernon, CO; 2 brothers, Cecil Shephard of Freestate, MO, and Billy Pitts of Plainsview, TX; 1 sister, Nada Shephard of Waco, TX; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at 2:00 PM at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary on Monday from 5 - 7 PM.
