HANNAH JANE DARRELL, 20, of Weldona, died Thursday, July 23, 2009. Hannah was born April 30, 1989 in Fort Morgan to Robert & Trudie Darrell. She joined three sisters at home and her journey began. She attended Fort Morgan schools and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 2007. Hannah was attending Aims Community College in Greeley at the time of her death, pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. She had a heart for troubled teens and wanted to help as a juvenile probation officer. During her school days, Hannah was active in AWANA and 4-H. She helped her parents and sisters with the Grace Bible Church Youth Group and took her first of many mission trips to an orphanage in Mexico with the Life Fellowship Youth Group. She eventually joined that youth group and took several trips to the orphanage. She loved the orphans and could usually be found with the kids when she was suppose to be participating in a work activity. Those trips were always very special to her and she always cried hard when it was time to leave. Hannah was active in high school and was on the honor roll and Who's Who Among American High School Students. She was active in FFA, LULAC, Spirit Club, and she was a cheerleader. Hannah was baptized as a baby and decided to be baptized again in 2005. She moved to Greeley after graduation to attend college. She had recently moved back home and was finishing her last few classes. Hannah loved animals and seemed to be able to sense their needs. She was always trying to make all of God's creatures her pets. She found solace in music. Hannah was a very intense person and loved very deeply. Likewise, she felt life's hurts very deeply. She was very artistic and she loved to draw and write poetry. Her poetry often spoke of things like love, hate, sadness, joy, and other things she couldn't speak of. She was definitely a still water that ran deep. Her soul is now at peace. Hannah is survived by her parents, Rob & Trudie Darrell of Weldona; three sisters, Sarah (Darrell) Arndt, Chelsea (Darrell) Schraeder and Amy Darrell; and her brothers-in law, David Arndt and Darrel Schraeder. She especially loved her nephews and nieces, Clay, Maya, Dillon, Austin and Kaley. She spent most of her free time with them. She is also survived by her grandparents, Peter & Madelene Walsh of Arvada, and Roy & Helen Darrell of Akron, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Barbara Richter; and cousin, Logan Darrell. Her family is comforted by the fact that she knew the Lord. A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 28th at 10:00 AM at Life Fellowship Church in Fort Morgan with Pastor Kelly Cupples officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Memorial gifts may be made in Hannah's name and sent to Heer & Dahl Mortuary, 225 E. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, CO 80701. Heer & Dahl Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
