Harold E. Hansen, 81, life resident of the Brush community, passed away Wednesday evening, May 20, 2009, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. He was born March 22, 1928 in Brush to Albert & Esther Hansen. Harold served in the US Coast Guard from 1952 until 1955. On September 12, 1959, Harold married Judy Brascho in Aurora, Colorado. Harold's avocation and vocation was being a farmer and rancher. He loved his work. He served on the board of the Upper Platte & Beaver Irrigation Company for many years. He was past president of the Farmland Co-Op in Brush; was a charter board member of the Morgan County Quality Water District and was a member of the American Legion Sagebrush Post. Harold and Judy enjoyed going to Black Hawk and playing the slot machines. Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Brush; 2 children, Hilary of Brush and Darren of Round Rock, TX; 1 brother, Lawrence of Brush; and 3 sisters, Phyllis Richard of Spokane, WA, Evelyn Haigh of Castle Pines, CO, and Dorothy Ballheim of Fort Morgan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Kenneth, and his parents. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 603 Custer Street in Brush. Inurnment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery Columbarium at 2:00 PM.
