Harold Miller 69 passed away at Valley View Villa on January 30,2017.

He was born on January 5, 1949 to Lenard Miller and Margaret Kummer in Wray, Colorado. He had one brother and numerous half  and step siblings.   Harold leaves behind numerous friends throughout Ft. Morgan as he never knew a stranger. He was quite a conservationist, always joined in and added to the  discussions.  Harold had a great appreciation for everyone he met.  He particularly treasured  all the care providers that assisted him throughout his life in assuring  his quality of life had meaning and purpose.

From the age of two Harold and his brother, Clarence lived their early life at the Ridge State Home in Grand Junction, Colorado. He loved the home which established the groundwork for his ability to form meaningful relationships and opportunities for his success later in life.   He loved spending time with his "community family" and considered Mr. and Mrs. Elis his parents away from home.  He shared fond memories of going fishing, exploring the mountains, and family celebrations became treasures for Harold.   As always,  Harold loved opportunities to be in the community and one of his greatest accomplishments was winning the Jaycee's state bowling award.

In 1976 he moved to Ft. Morgan. He was a very proud and social man who loved opportunities to get to know people and build friendships----all over town!   He worked at various jobs as a dishwasher and in food preparation  in many restaurants in Ft. Morgan until his health ended his career.   Business folks around town likely remember his daily visits to their places and his conversations about community events and the happenings of the day. Community Services became one of his biggest supports and he always looked forward to the special activities they provided.  One of his favorite  activities was  riding his bicycles and sharing conversation and humor with everyone.  Holidays and special events were what he lived for.  Spending time with his adopted family was also special to Harold.  He was able to keep up with the teasing and wit that others dished out and looked forward to the kinship.  His annual trip with his friends, Pat and Donna Nefos,  to the Greeley Stampede was especially rewarding to him.  By the time he returned from one trip he was planning next year's trip.   Harold's  love of music  carried him through many tough times and he loved purchasing new (tapes) and CD's.  He was also quick to inform people of his independent trips to Nashville and Branson Missouri, the concerts he attended, and the stars he shook hands with,  and the pictures that he had his picture taken with.  He always looked forward to spending time with friends and family and to be involved in any community celebrations-- even if he had to invite himself.

Harold loved football and looked forward to going to the Ft. Morgan Mustangs home games and when the coaches took time out to walk over and visit with him .  Of course, the cheerleaders were an added bonus for him and he loved the time that the football team honored him with  a signed "real" football.   Every Sunday Harold reminded everyone of the Bronco games and was dressed in his Bronco attire by 6:00am.

Harold had a passion for knowing the time and schedules. He always owned at least 20 watches and was never late to anything.  He was quick to inform others of his schedule, as well as, what he understood their schedule should be.

Later in his life he experienced rewarding times at Valley View Villa where he developed many meaningful relationships with all of the staff members. He considered them his friends and  Valley View Villa his home.  He truly cherished the special care and love  he received from everyone--  even though he was a challenge on occasion.

One of his greatest joys was the day he was baptized at Life Fellowship Church.  His memory of the entire congregation's support amazed him and he knew he belonged to something special.  He always looked forward to attending services and activities, especially the music.

Harold leaves behind Ms. Elis (house mother from Ridge), good friends Deb Hanson and family, Pat and Donna Nefos, and a host of loyal and thoughtful friends throughout Ft. Morgan.

Memorial Services will be February 19,2018 at Life Fellowship in Ft. Morgan, Co. at 10:30am.

Harold will never be forgotten by those he touched and they will always treasure his spirit. Remember ... OK then I won't eat!! .. You could be replaced!!..You COULD be nice!!..  We are good friends- aren't we!?!
